James Rodriguez is set to join Mexican side Club Leon on a one-year deal.

Ufabet Sport revealed the destination of James Rodriguez on Sunday. With the Colombian midfielder set to join Mexico side Club Leon in the coming days.

According to Ufabet Sport, negotiations between James and Club Leon are close to completion. And the 33-year-old midfielder is to head to Mexico to finalise the details and sign a one-year deal. 

For Club Leon, led by Argentine coach Eduardo Berizzo. There are three Colombian players playing in the team: Steven Mendoza, Edgar Guerra and Heine Barreiro. As well as South American players: Diego Hernandez, Adonis Frias, Honder Cadiz, Nicolas Fonseca and Emiliano Rigoni. 

Leon did not disclose the financial details of the deal or the duration of it.

The 33-year-old midfielder will be with his third team in a year. In January of last year he signed with Sao Paulo in Brazil. Where he also had a six-month stay in which he played in 14 games, scoring one goal.

In qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. James is the leader in assists with four and Colombia is in fourth place. After 12 rounds behind Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador.

The 32-team Club World Cup begins June 14 in the United States.
